It seems as though Jai Paul has become the Disclosure of downtempo/electronic musical analogies. Demo Taped has released an almost carbon-copy of Paul’s, what is now, seminal tune: ‘Jasmine‘. Thing is, though, who actually cares? Until the sound gets rinsed to aggravating levels of ubiquity, anyone who seems to mimic its harmonies tends to both get away with it and do a bloody amazing job of it, as is shown with ‘I Luv U’. We’ve recently come across new acts, Nick Klein and Nao, who have taken Jai Paul’s wonderfully exuberant electronic finesse and come out with something rather special: this tune is no different.
