Laurel came to my attention earlier this year when she released a demo of ‘Blue Blood’. There’s only one thing that separates a good singer from a good artist and that’s songwriting: there aren’t many that come as a full package. While the indulging amenities of major label artists come with professional songwriters, producers and marketing pro’s, unsigned artists must dip their fingers in every pie. This is something Laurel does so well. ‘Memorials’ contains the lyrics, production and songwriting capability of a seasoned artist, but she is herself only 20 years old: a testament to the girl’s raw talent.
I'm the Editor of The Vibe Guide. I also occasionally dabble with the label side, too. Drop me a line if you've got an interesting story. If you're sending promo, please don't include the age of the producer/singer - this isn't the porn industry - if you're talented, you're talented :)
