The production in this record reminds me of Max Cooper which is part of the reason I love the work of Mister Lies: it’s all about the finer details. Futuristic in its execution, ‘Pill’ hooks you in right from the off with mercurial vocals that fit the Autumn bill; in a world of seemingly recycled music, this is actually really refreshing. It pretty much shits on every other downtempo/electronica record out there so if you’re fan of this, I’d strongly recommend you take a listen to the rest of the album.
