Berlin, the place to be! The Berlin music scene has many faces, one of its specialities is electronic music. rampue has been active for a while now, but he has always acted a little under the radar. He has experimented with different genres, to come to the conclusion to focus on deep vibes and soulful tunes.
In a city as active as Berlin, it is hard to be noticed, but with track such as Leonard Cohen’s “Avalanche”, one can see why rampue plays gigs all over the world. When remixing a fairly well known song, the expectations for the product are fairly high. There are many bad examples for such occasions, but every now and then the remake can match the original. This almost 9 min long masterpiece truly does its job well. The dreamy vocals and exciting swirly guitar licks from the original, together with a sharp hi-hat and a bassy kick are a joy to listen to. The sample from Jean-Michel Bernard’s “Coutances” also creates a nice contrast to the main track.
When listening to rampue, it is hard to decide if one wants to start dancing, or just close the eyes and keep listening.
