When discussing Neo-Soul and RnB these days, it’s impossible to have a decent conversation without mentioning the Sydney-based Composer and Producer, Nehzuil. From his soulful and smooth remixes to original production for Uness, the music on this producer’s page is enough to keep any R&B fan glued to their computer for hours.
I first discovered this talented musician via DJ Complexion’s radio program, aptly named “The Future Beats” Show, on an indie radio network in London and I was a fan instantly. Nehzuil is a unique producer, however, as his arrangements are all riddled with one-hundred percent original production, with the only sample being the a-capella of the original artist. As a producer myself, I find this very admirable, as it takes a serious amount of talent and creativity to completely re-design the vibe and groove from the original musician. It’s always a pleasure seeing a new Nehzuil tune in my SoundCloud feed, and I continue to await each and every new song this hard-working musician releases!
From the moment the first set of ivory keys are played, to the first crack of the snare, to the soft synths that create an ambient atmosphere, Nehzuil’s luxurious rework of Musiq Soulchild’s “Forthenight” is a masterpiece with subtle flairs that will satisfy any and all who appreciate an organic arrangement of Soul and Jazz.
