Munich-based producer, WKND, has completely reshaped James Vincent McMorrow’s breathtaking single “We Don’t Eat.” I can’t deny that the original track is an absolute tearjerker, but WKND’s remix is full of some much needed energy. Instead of diving right into the emotionally-driven vocals of McMorrow, WKND powers up this remix with a sample of Sylvester Stallone’s iconic words of wisdom from the 2006 movie, Rocky Balboa.
The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you’re hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!
WKND has taken quite an original approach to this remix and overall, I’d say that his innovation pays off. We end up with a solid track full of warm vibes, yet still full of complex emotions.
